GREEN VALLEY WATER DISTRICT RATE INCREASES 2018-2019
December 28, 2017
Earlier this year, the Green Valley Water District inspected the casing and equipment at Well #1. Unfortunately deficiencies were discovered that indicated a replacement for this well would be necessary sooner than later.
The estimate to replace this well is about one point three (1.3) million (mm) dollars ($). The District requires a rate increase to start building reserves for loan payments for the new well. In addition, the rate increase will include a component that will offset the inflationary costs that have occurred since the last rate increase in 2013.
The monthly increase listed below is for a typical residential customer with a 5/8” meter.
CAPITAL COST – WELL FUNDING INCREASE
This will be an increase of $1.75/month.
The District will implement this increase in two stages of $0.60/month with the 1st stage beginning February 2018 and the 2nd stage beginning July 2019.
The total impact of the above rate changes will be:
February 2018 = $2.35/month
July 2019 = $0.60/month
A Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2018, starting at 1:00 PM in the Mesquite Room at the Canoa Hills Recreation Center to address any questions regarding this rate increase. Click Here for more information
