Green Valley Water District Rate Increase 2019
In 2017, the Green Valley Water District inspected the casing and equipment at Well #1. Unfortunately, deficiencies were discovered that indicated a replacement for this well would be necessary sooner than later.
The current estimate to replace this well is about one point six (1.6) million (mm) dollars ($). The District required a rate increase to start building reserves for loan payments for the new well. Additionally, the rate increase included a component that would offset the inflationary costs that have occurred since the last rate increase in 2013.
The increase for capital funding as well as the first stage of the inflationary increase took effect in February 2018 with the second stage of the inflationary increase set to start in July 2019. This second stage increase is $0.60/month.
This rate increase structure was approved at a public hearing held January 8, 2018.
If you have any questions concerning this second stage of the approved rate increase, please feel free to contract the Green Valley Water District office Monday-Friday between 7:00am and 4:00pm.
